In addition to testing conventional plumbing products such as faucets and fixtures, our Specialty Testing Department can also test to ASTM, ASSE, ASME or IAPMO PS, TS and IGC standards.

Specialty Products testing includes testing of pipe and fittings for potable water, valves, DWV and sewer pipe, fittings and connectors, temperature compensating valves, backflow prevention devices, water pressure reducing valves, hot water dispensers, hot water circulation devices, safety shutoff valves and various water connectors as well as copper, ABS, PVC, CPVC, and cast iron pipe and fittings, push and press fittings, and leak detection systems.  Specialty testing can also work with manufacturers to test other new and innovative products which are coming on the market.

If a product does not fit into the scope of existing standards we can work with the Codes and Standards division to assist a manufacturer in developing an IGC (IAPMO Guide Criteria) so that the product can obtain a certification mark.
